l. In accordanee with established ArIC and Air Force policies for the study
and evaluation of unidentified aerial objects, request that attached specimens be
eramined and a report as to their composition and identity be made to this office.
2.The motallic speeimens appear to be a forn of iron-nickel-cobalt alloy,
which may be of meteoric origin. The specimen within the glass container purports
to be angel's-bair", and it cannot be determined whether organic o inorganic com
position.
3. Special investigator, M/Sgt O. D. Hill, obtained the specinenn Saturday
afternoon, 13 October 1956.
4e brief background surrounding these specimens should be of some assistance
in initiating a study of the itema, and to indicate reasons why this scemingly un
usual request is sonsidered necessary:

d. The etal fragrents vare allegedly fcand by this individual in a stons
quarry in the outskirts of Cineinnati (Madisonville-Madeira area). The apecimens
are claimed to be only amall fragments of a larger mass rteted to be about I8 inches
in diameter and abcut lo inches- thick The investigator was told that it had *hit"
the quarry with soma force and found Labedded

mittad them to the University of Cincinnati for exsmination, and it was found that
they were not of meteorie origin.
