Came on duty in Ccntrol Tower at 1615 hrs. Pacific; as advised cf object at 13840 hr
Began to take pictures at 1900 hrs of shortly after. Cbjectapceared almost over the si
at first and mcved fromNE to Sii while surface winds were from the Si: at about 5 miles pe
hour. GieGer Tower was asked concerning cbject and advised they had seen it all day
afterncon. Spokane Radio advised thier first report was by a civilian pilot about 1400ny
and cLjcct was over CCUEN D A'LENE, IDaht at that time.
Gieger Tower had two jet fighters report cn the object. First jet at 43,000 ft.
and seccnd jet a F-86D at higher altitude and botn aircraft advived the cbject to be
at least 60,000 fect, and appeared like an encrmous baldon.
Gieger CAA weather station repcrted the first favcrable wind moving in the diredtion
of the object to be at 60,000 ft.
Cbject was cbserved through 7 x 50 bincculars and appeared in shape of a teardrop,
and lcoked cf a translucent color as if we cculd see through it, and appeared to have

The sky ccnditicns et the time was very clear with no clouds at all and the visabili
wss unlimited.
Also several cf the photographs were taken with a pair of 7 x 50 binoculars affixed
to the front of the camera.
