9. Upon investigation by lst Ltq Jr., USAF, Intelligence
Divisien, Hq Cond, USAF, the preparing offlcer, the following facts weare brought
to light. Lt at the time of sighting cheeked wi th Washington National Redar
and drew a negative report of ary radar contact with unidentified objeets. He alme
stated that the objeets looked Mn contrelled, and one had to wateh
t. earefully to kceep 8ye contact with sheeking on the nlying objeets,
the investigating officer contacted th vatory, and there tallked ad th
Dr. Gosaner, an rtronomer employed there. He offered the following explanation. An
individual, with 2, naleed aye, can observe twinkling star, which may appear to b
changing colers. DE. Gegs pOs said one could alse obsert eetting star, which would
explain one of th objects going below the horison in th est. High eloud cover,
undetectable by visual means, could also explain the othe objects di appearing from
view. He aid that he was quite certain that the objects n by Lt stare,
as he has checked into such sightings on previous occasions of this
information, the investigating officer is satisflad that the astronomer's
was sufficient t explain the unidentified flying objects, as no definite
information can be obtained to believe otherwise.
