of an unknown object novaring above Puente, California, at approxi-
mately 1015'1 hours, 1 11 etrury 1954. interviewed and revealed
his wife, had actuaily sighted the object, but
he hed gathered sona of the residue that may nave ne from the object.

this tine placed the cloth that had contained the substance under an ultra-
violet lanp with negetive results. DAILy advised that he and his wife had
looked at the quart jar aevaral tines on the way into Los ingeles and the substame
seemad to be dininis aill the time. DAILY stated that after the episode of
the substance disapp g when the cloth was renoved from the quart jar,
MILLeR had immediatei. tasan a photograph of the pint ja contents which
could etill be seen inside the jar This photo had been developed imnediately
by lILLek and did show the substance contrasting against the black cloth.
MLLiR had sealed the iid on the pint glass jar with black scotch tape at
this tiae. DAlLy adviaed that he and his wife had left for home at approxi-
mately l9oo hours and at er arriving had a conversation with his wife's siter and
brother-in-law and ha eo secured some of the residue on black cloth and put
the FsI at approxinately 2loo hours, gave then the information and was told
that he would be contacted later proxinately 2200 hours, ir. TRACY
from OST called him.

had photographed the other jar that Dhad with the cloth and substance in

tape, ,had developed the ragatives of the photographs taken of the smaller
jar, and had taken Mrs. into another roon to question her ,while Mrs.

9. On 1 February r's was interviewed and when asked
what Mis. had told r, related the same infornaticn as Mrsl had
their background: advised that he was a graduat the I University
of Southern California, class of 1933, holding a Bachelor's Dearee in Journalism.
He said he had bean interested flying saucers, aerial phenomena since 1947,
collecting information and de mentinz as much as the information as possible,
He said he had written artiele natter and unexplained nysteries for
the Coronet magazine for fiva or for Fontlar M ohanies and
had writted and published cod ok, "Forgotten gateries", latit repuolishei mcer
the name of "Tales of the Supernatural." He had sent this book to walter
Winchell in l947, and Winchell had carried excerpts fron this book in his
coLumn. further aavised thet he had been called uocn to appear as an
authority on flying phenomena on diffarent radio and television shows in the
