I was in th Amarille Control Tower on August the 3, 1953 and was looking
north out of the tomer cab for an aireraft when I observed an object which I
first thought was a balloon moving from the east to the west, it was moving
faster than a balloon and was holding an altitude approximataly 45 degrees
above the horison and contimuing east until reaching a position slightly r east
of a position north or the tower and coming to a stop. I realized that this
object was not balloon 38 1t did rise and that it was moving faster than
the wind could balloon, This object was cles nough that 1t
was round and itins sum giving oft a translucent
object remained position for approximately seven seconds the
