report of investigation by Special Agent JAMGS W, STG, 6th OSI Dis-
trict, Robins Air Force Base, Georgla, file 24-161, dated 31 July
1953, subject as above,

2. Investigation was predicated upon information from the Federal
Bureau of Investigation, Atlanta Field uffice, Georgia, that three (3)
men had seen an unknown flying object neur Atlanta, Georgia on the night

of 7-8 July 1953.

3. No further investigative action is contemplated, and the files
of the Office of Special Investigations are considered closed in instant
case,

3. At 0855 hours on 3 July 1953, Special Agent AUBKBY S, HUT, atlanta
Field Office, #ederal Bureau of Investigation, telephonically contacted the
Atlante Detachment, 6th District OSI (1G), and advised Special Agent JAWS 4,
WakD of a telephone call received by the FBI night agent at 0345 hours, 8 July

1953. In this call, iir. THOMAS lichAa of the Atlanta Constitution inforned the

at Dobbins Air force Base, Georgia, were telephonically sdvised of the inciaent;
Captaia J, P, BOIDEN, Base Operations Officer, Dobbins Air worce Base, and Afic
HUGH SUMMMK, Intelligence Section, 35th Air Division, Dobbins Air force base,

telligence, 35th Air Division, who was temporarily out of the office,)

tacted at the Intelligences Section, 35th air Vivision, Joboins a"Be. S.wDus
advised that he had interviewed WB and had seen the animal in question,
Captain SauJaS advised that the animal had been taken to the smory University

Hospital, wnere an Jory authority (name or position not ziven) identified it
as a nowber of the monkey family and not aa "aaiual from space." Captain

twelve (12), contained an article which identified the dead animal as o nontey

which had been shaved and from which the tail had been removed, ‘’hise conclusion

was reached by Dr. HiiwA JONGS of the State Crime Jaboratory and Dr, !LARION
HIUUS, professor of experimental anatowy at lmory University, Atlanta, Jeorvia,
