Informants stated that object apveared suddenly, and the very
high speed and odd shape held their attention. Object seemed to be banking
at 2,000 feet, then shot straight up te a high altitude (approxinately
19,000 te 12,000 feet), leveled off, and disappeared into the east.

The shape of the object was difficult te deternine, but observers stated
the gua caught the object in a bank, at which time the nearest ching trey
could compare it te would be a diesel railroad engine. lt was blunt and
bulxy in natare and they were Guite positive that the obfect aid not
‘ave wings. The very high speed of such a large bulky object caused ts
two obeervers to wonder ami pay close attentiosa. ite object way noisoluss,
which alse caused wonderment on tie part of the observers. hey cupped
thelg hands behind their cars to try ana pick up some sort cf noise, wut
failed te co se, There cid net appear te be any ssoke, contrails, or
rlaae.

general vicinity, which appeared to be heading for Stewart Air Vorce dase.
Little attention was paid te this traffic.
