I called the 4otb F13 and requested that an offieer check the object.

The closest discription I could
give would be, it looked circular and would be
then fede out then alowiy return brighter. within fifteen (ls) miautes
the object just fwied out, but seened to remain in_the same place,.looked
to be over the ciy of Dover Delaware, west of Dover ArB. Just before the
object faded out the officers were leaving to go after the object, then
let the Radar statiea know immediately, in case it eppeared again. The
weather report at this tim Ive zero zero (15,000) overcast
with about six (ó) allegT uled M/S4 and informed
him of the object. the Day Gillard the 1737th

identification action taken: Lt. Rogers, A/w pilot, who at the
time of sighting was sitting on a 5 minutadstandby Air Defense Alert, requested per-
mission from the CCI station to scramble and attempt intercept the tercept the object. object. The
CCI controller contacted 2ond tir Division about the request but was refused. request but mas refused. After fter
the pilot's request for a scramble was refused, the ooservers
watched the light until it finally disappeared.
