1. FHenert of the sighting was made by Observers to the 17OClst Air Transport Wing,
Creat Falls Air Force Base, Ucntana on 24 February. The following day an invosticaticn
team consisting of the “ing Cperationa and Training Officer proceeded to Dedsun,
Montana to interview witnesses. No written statements were taken from the witness
who were Ur, a Mr. & Mrs. @QMBBRMM and their tro sons SO ae
witnesses agreed as to what they observed which was in sub-~-

2. At about 2130 MST on the nisht of 22 February 1953, Y 'r PNR 2c concanied
by a man cazned and his wife were dtrving in a truck in tne small town of Locscn,
Yontana, approximately 198 miles north northeast of Creat Falls when they observed 4
brijliant white light in the sky at an estimated altituds of 7500 te 4000 feet and cag

a piercing red glow,

“hen first observed the object appeared as a mtionless brilliant wite licht &t an
estimated altitude from 3500 te 4000 feet above terrain, remaining steady for about
4 ainutes then began moving in a northerly direction at the approximte speed of an
aircralt for a distance of sone 5 wiles and again remained motionless for 3 minutes,
then abruptly departed on « northwest heading at very high speed. ‘s speed increased
_ the white light changed to a red glow. to sound from the object was heard. Total
time of observation about 3¢ minutes.
Weather conmiitions at tise of alghting was mt given nor was any information as to
known aimborne aircraft furnished.
