Avout &:05 pwa,, I sighted what + took at first glance to be an ox-
ceptionally bright star in the western sky, slightly north of due west.
I was just leavins my parents home in the Coconut Grove section of “iami
after Christmas dinner,
bont five or six minutes later, arriving at ay own home ate

acous’ "That isn't any star,
i stood in the ard for a couple of minutes looking at ths lisht and
cocided for myself that it wasn't a star, It was drosying faster than a
star would ¢@rop and nad moved from sligntiy rorta of west to slisatly
sout of west. It's elevation at this time JT cstimatec at about 30 deyrees.
T took my camera ont of the car ond made a pictures of the object, which is atchd
then continued to wateh it. -ly wife wont inte the house to call one of
her friends about the object. while she was on the o¥pna, tue livht con-
tinved its slow drift southward ani toward the skyline.
when it was about 20 degrees avove the hori-oneenot tne siyline--
it suddenly became very din, assuming a reddish hus much like an enber,
Then it tlared to about a Giird its previous bril’iance and went out.
This took place in only two or three seconds, tuere was no sracual dying
out Qf the light. It was then about 8:20 5,.,
tT continued watchin, for a couple of minutes then went in the house
myself. Still curious about tna object, I went outside aain and, moved
ground until I found the low spot in the skyling sac again I saw the
light, much dimser and tin:ea with yellow this time, it had moved quite
a bit farther south and was very close to the sxyline, about 10 degrees
wbove the horizon. Ina few moments it went below the skyline entirel,.

Headquarters, the inclosed copy of this office's letter to the Director
of Intelligence, Headquarters USAF, is provided for your information,
2. Inclosed herewith are the original negatives secured from Mr.
and additional copies of the contact prints made at this
Headquarters from the photographs originally developed by hin.
3. At the time of the latest contact with source, he and his wife
stated that they had observed no similar phenomena since their reported
” observation, although they both have scanned the sky on frequent occasions
since. Mr emended his original statement by informing the
undersigned that his photographs had been overdeveloped 100% instead of 50%
as he originally stated. He added further that his camera is an Argus C-3,
not an Argus C-53.
