Northwest of Jackasboro, Texas, on Us Hichway

Fort Vorth, Texas, of unknown reliability, voluntarily renerted
seeing an object in the s*y while enroute via automoblls to Fort
forth, Texas, at a point 15,3 niles northwest of Jacksboro, Texas,
on US Highway 281, at 1511 hours, CST, 29 October 1952, Object
appeared from the northeast, flying a stralcht course of asproxi-
mately 245 to 259 degrees, at an estinated apeed of 75) to 590
miles an hour, at an eltitude of epproxinately 1500 to 2000 fcet,
NORTHFPN was first attracted to the object by en exhaust flash,
bright orange color, lasting epproximately one (1) second, followed
by two (7) other exhaust flashes lasting approximately the same
lsngth of time, The second othaust flash illuminated the object,
for approximately one (1) second, sand was estimated to be 1/2th of
a mile directly in the pata of his car, SBI ose ved the
object as being similar to a disous, circular in shape, or two (2)
table plates laid inverted, one upon the other, approximately
forty (40) to fifty (59) foet in diameter and five (5) or si (5)
feet thick at its center, tapering from the center to a thinelike
Leading edge, The cbhject appeared to be gray, or dull aluainua,
in eclor with black trinmed leading adges, The exhaust left no
snoxe trail and disapneared into the twilight, continuing in its
corte, No visible identifying markings wera observed on tha
gniest, and the weather was clear, The time of day was at dus‘,
sod headlights of his sutomobile were not on, At the tine, no
traffic, in either direction, was observed, and no activity near
thet vould cause s reflection in the sky. No visible evisence of

“sbiect's flight, end object flew awiftly sway, with no seeming

beistance from the eloments, The object made no zomnd audible
ebeve the sound of MMB autonobdile,

Pollowing report of unicentified object was given by an air crew
aboard a C-47 type aircraft consisting of U3AF Captain JACK TR. NcKINIS-
TR, Captain JOHN R. NAU and S/Sst George ti, Watson, on a return rou-
tine flight from Enid, Oklahoma to ferrin Air Forces Hase, Texas, home
station. All thres crew riombers are considered reliable. Sas Fart II.

(1) The one object sishted was round, bright-bluish in color; it
traveled in a straight line from east to wost at jot speed, estimated
by one of the source, 3/Sct Georze 4. Watson, to bs 600 miles per hour;
however, the two officers would not ostimate a definite speed, but simp}
ly stated "jet speed." There was no distinszulshable exhaust but cone aids
of tha object waa of a brighter blue; howaver, that side was consistently
bright. The object burst into fragments and simultaneously disappeared,

(2) Object was sichted at 1813 hours, Central Standard Time, 23
October 1952. Langth of time observsd was about ton seconds.

(3} Observation was made visually fron a 0-47 type airoraft, altt-
tudes 5500 fest, speed 150 miles per hour.

(4) Location of observers was 33° S7'ii, 97° 15'Y over the Canadian
rivor, south of | Oklahoma City in Oklahoma. Ohifoct was at 5500 feot alti-
tude and traveling cast to west in a atraizght lines. “ons of tha crew
would estinate the distance of the object fron the C-47 aircraft.

(5) All threes observers have not previously oxperionced the sichte
inz of an unldentified objact such aga described above. ‘Tha two officers
havea responsible positions in a flying training group, rorrin Alr Forces
Paas, Toxas and all threes of tha observers ars considered reliable.

(6) Weather at the time and place of sishting wag fair, visibllity
was fifteen miles with wind from the North,torth Wast at elishs imots.

(7) Thsre was no known condition, mateorclozical or otherwise
which would have accounted for the sishting.

(8) There is no known existence of svidence such as fragzents,
photographs, stc, of the sizhting.

{9) At the time of sichting, above crew notified Oklahoma City
radio station, Oklahoma of the incident and also reported it to Sase
Qperations, Perrin Air Forse Base, Texas, upon landing. This base then
notified Carswell Air Force Base, Texas flicht center which did not
later report an intercept. Ths sighting crew of the 0-47 aircraft aiso
notified “ins Intellisence, Perrin Alr rorce Masa which further rsport-

At about 13:15 hours, on the evening of 23 October 1952, I was
flying in a C-47 (9236) type aireraft with Capt. JACK &. MOKTN SFaP
and Capt. JOZ4 R. MAU. Cant NAY and myself were watchinz for alr
craft in the area as a safety measure when out of the Fagt care this
oricht Slice itctht and passed to the vest. It disinteszrated in midair
and Gisaczeared. I couldn't hear a sound for our enzines were making
noise. Tne speed seered to bo that of a jot aireraft. wa were up
about S500 feat altitude. This happ«ned over Dklahoma.
