On Friday evening 17 October 1952, nt approximately 2115 v7, 1
sbeerred a stranve object in the sky. While sitting in the Huntotpal
-tadiwe, watehing » local football gaze, I heppened to look to the north
“nd saw what avrpeared to be a very lares mateor, the oath of fall wes
alnos$ vertical ond toward wagnetic north. -he objent eave off a bright
bluish=sreen color, und owltted a sudden flesh when it disappeared from

view.

It is axtremely difficult to describe the aize of the sbjeet because,
at the most, it waa only in efahbt for two (2) seconds. It was, however,
larger than the «verage falling star. The object nype ved to burn itself

out rather than fall frem sight. “his was borne ont by the arversat
flash ut the end of the fell. Olatence ond sread ware other factors of

which it would ba incoesible to give sn sccur-te eatinate due to the
lock of compnrable size.

On Friday evening 17 October 1952, at approximately 2110 hours MST,
I observed a strange object in the sky. While watching a football game
at “‘unigipal Stadium, I noticed what appeared to be a very large meteor
east of Albuquerque traveling north. The object was a bright blueezreen,
and falling very rapidly. It was only in view for-about one (1) second,
and it was not possible to estimate any speed. The object appeared to
burn itself out rather than fall from sight,

I, William J. Arrowood, 2d Lieutenant, Usar, AO 1850521, 49loth Air
Base Group, Kirtland Ars, New Mexico, do hereby make the following statement:

At about 2115 hours, 17 October 1952, I saw an object about the siue
of a football streak strough the sky ia a southwest to northeast direction.
I waa sitting in the public schools stadium in the city of Albujuerqua,
lew Mexico at the time. I astimate the object to be traveling at a speed
of over 2000 miles per hour and at an altitude of 30,000 feat. Ib seened
to me that this object was a meteorite and it was bright blue in color.

I would say that I observed the object for about 3 seconds, and it

then disappeared,
