3. SOVACE and wife agree that the flying object waa of « desiga as Inlicated
by the fucsinile skatch attached a3 iuclosurs 2, i.0., 2 delta wing type sirerals.
SOURCE writes that the airlal performance of the object waa similiar to that of a
delta wing aireraft and that the flying object made no noise ond maintained a oteady
course, SOURCE writes that aprrocimately 15 secomlis clapsed fromthe time he inle
tlally cbserved the flying object untill 1t passed beyond some trses which interrupted
his line of sight.

4-0 SOURCE initially writes that he could not determine the flying objecta size,
Speed, or distance, but feels that it was at loast one (1) nile sway, SOURCS then
writes that in the ovent the flying object waa one (1) aile to the last of his posi-
tion, he would catimate it to bo flying at an altitude of 2,000 roet at 100-125 aoyh,
oml its width appretinmately 200 feat, SOURCE atates that it would be difficult to
estimate the thickness of the flying object as he and his wits conld not see it
clearly 2% anytine.

5, SOURCE writes that the flying object ws light in color nd seemed *o haves
a dull clow or slizht luminescence, SOURCE feels that the objects color or luminous
e&ppearsnce waa not a result of reflected light frow the city us 1% nalntained its
color or luminous appearance after peaaing over the city onto the desert, SOURCE
writes that there were no clowis in the vicinity and that the moon @!1.d not rise for
another hour, S0OURCZ farther writes that ho has ruled out the possibility that the
unidentified object could have been a larvae flock of ducks or other bimis because of
the abowe,.

6, SOURCS writes that he has rulled out the possibility that the unidentifted
object could have been a conventional alrersaft as he is iamiltiar with same, and bee
lieves that the only explanation ‘or the unidentified object would bo some atomphee
vie condition which formed a cloud-like shape that traveled {n a Cirection opposite
to the light prevailing breeze, SUUHCE writes that such oxistancy, however, vould
not explain the dull glow that made the objeet visible on a dark nivht,

ATR INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION REPORT f :

Norton AYB, Calif,

Ltr: Flying Object (Verbatim copy)

Pe
Needles, Calif.

Sept S$, 1952

Intelligence Officer
Norton 1, F, Base
San Bernardino, Calif

Subject: Unidentified Object

Last night while sitting on uy front porch at Needles, about 3:30 Pi, I noticed |
an object moving from north to south end immediately called the attention of ny wife

to it. I have no way of knowing its size, speed, nor how far away it was, but I
fool rather sure it was at least a mile away and probably farther,

iy wife and I agree that it was this shape:
FROnT:

oh Sy Pe

In other words it was on the order of a delta type craft and moved thru the air
like the above type does, It wade no noise and kept on a steady course, I estimate

that from the tine I first saw it, until it was shielded from view by some tall trees,
about 15 seconds slapsed.

. =

—_—— - -

In the event this object was a nile to the cast of where I was, I night roughly
estinate that it was at an altitude of 2,000 ft, and was going about 100 - 125 miles
per hour and its width about 200 ft. I would be hard to estimate its thickness, be-
cause we gould not, at any time, see it very clearyly.

This matter was light in color and seemed to zlow a very dull glow, or was by
some phoenomenon. slightly luminous itself,

I feel rather certain that the object was not lit up by the lights of the city,
becauge it was just the same dull intensity after it had passed over the city and
continued on over the desert, ‘There were no clouds in the immediate vicinity, and
it was fully an hour or more before the moon caue up,

I have ruled out the possibility that it miszht have been a larze flock of ducks
‘or other birds because of the above.

I also have ruled out the possibility of its being a conventional aircraft, as
I know them anyway, at least,

The only thing I can think it might have been would be an atmospherie condition

forming 2 cloud-like shape and sending it in a direction almost opposite the liht |
prevailing breeze that was moving at that tine, |
