{tcomd Detroit, Michigan sighted an object in he sky over northern Detrolt,
Michigan, The object appeared to be the size of a large star and white in
color, changing intermittently to red. Wo exhaust or sound was noticed by
the observer. The spesd of the object was estimated at approximately 100
to 150 mikes per hour. Ths object appeared to stand motionless for a pariod

of fifteen or twenty minutes, than drifted to the NNW and disappeared by
iri fting out of range of vision. Ths object was first sighted at 0005 and
was observed until 0038s. odservation was visual ground only.

object,
but the object was located to the north of — observer. An angle of approx-
imately 39 Gegrees from the ground was the angles of sighting.
rxisting weather was; Clear sky, fifteen mile visibility, with wind from
thea NE at five miles per hour.
Two Jets took of at 2355E and had been within 30 miles WNW of Selfridges
to 50 miles NNE of Selfridges. At 0038R the Jets were approximately 70 miles
NNE of Selfridgs. No othsr known aircraft were in the area. Detroit Muslicipral
Airport is in the area noar sighting.
