1. Ths followine inossage was received from C.0., Thule Air Base, Greenland:

employee in United States Air Force as Arotic Rescue expert, state tha)
saw vapor trail originating about 50,000 feet above this ‘station
the tine of the ineident, stated that an aircraft would have to be
. ‘
above 12,000 cot at the time of the allerod incident to create vapor,
1 RPT 1 vapor trail was seen. No RPT no lights similiar to the type
sed on aircraft were scen, QB stated he saw vapor trails as they |
formed but his binoculars failed to reveal any object at the originating |
point of the vapor trail because of tho altitude of the alloged aircraft.
One aircraft, Nunber 5555 was in the pattern apnproaching thie station
for landing at the sams time as the alleged incident. Ben stated
he saw aircraft 6555, Charlie 54 at tho same tine that he sa the vavor
rail. Captain Diwerd Nancy Dahlborg was pilot of Charlie 54, Dumber
5555 and stated he approached this station south to north at 4000 fost.

Vahlborz stated he was too low to cause vapor trail and that he flew
cirectly into pattorn upon reaching this station. Treliminary inquirios

revealed similiar incident was alleged to have occursd at this station |
in January 1952 but vias not reported. Evaluation, Charlie 3; action : |
