Ovjees had glowing white lizhts on trailing odge of wing and black stripes
under wing. The object made no sound whatever and flew straizht and level.
lLighte from Central Avenue and autos reflecting off object gave it silver
color. ‘io means of propulsion noted. Sightinz end observations of GR
confirmed by his wife.
2. UDRTAILS: At 1000 hours, 26 Anenst 1951, LB WILLIAM 1. DAY,

object was estinated by WER to be avproxinsately 15°east of the Zenith
from his point of obesrvation. The odject, as descrided by BRR was
similar to the Northrop Flying Ying (B-“9), in that it had no fuselare,
the wince were swept back approximately 15° but hi no taper. As the
objeet parsed over the brightly lizhted Central Averne (US “izhway 66),
the refleetion of these liz>ts conld de seen on the unierside of the odject.
fhe size of this object was described by QPas to be one and a half (14)
times that of the 7-36, and was silver in color except for 6 or 83 dark

26 ae 1951 :
Albuquerque, ° .
On the night of 25 August 1951, at my home at 2153 hours I observed
for about 30 seconds an unfamiliar aircraft traveling from 10° west of
north in the direction of 10° east of south. The rate of speed of the
aircraft mich? have been 350 miles par hour.
The aircraft was low enough for the neon and car lights of Fast
Centzwal Aveme to be reflected from it. The altitude of the aircraft
was difficult to judge.
eer eee eee eee on eee ne eee enews Se
Be
The type of the aircraft was that off one with wings swept back 15°
approximately. No fuselage was visible. The wings did not appear to
taper at the outer ends. On the rear edge of each of the wings at least
6 and possible 8, soft, white lights were visible. these lights were
round, not trailing as in jet aircraft exhausts seen at nicht. These
lights were grouped in twos with a larger distance between the pairs
than between each one in a pair. No red or green lights were visible,
As the object. moved further south the lights were not visible,
The underneath surface of the wings of the aircraft appeared to
have stripes running from the leading edge to the rear edgs of the wings
between each pair of lights. These stripes reflected the light whereas
the areas between the lights did not reflect light well.
The most outstanding feature of this observation was the fact that
there was no audible sound from motors or jets, In fact, the aircraft
made no noise that I could hear.
The above statement is true to the best of my ability to describe
this incident,

AT ALZCOUZRQUR, Way MaXTCO
#26 August 1951
"On the 25th of August 1951 at 2159 hours from my home located
at » Albnouernue, New Mexico I observed the follow
ing described aircraft.
"This sircraft wes flying in a south by -ast direction at a speed
IT thought to be abont 300 miles ver hour.
"The altitude was difficult to judges, but the airernft was low
enough so that the lights from Central Ave. reflected from the lower
tide of the wings.
"This aircraft was unusual in the following ways, there was no
sound of motors of jets in f2ct there was no sound at all that I could
hear. I could see no fuselaze on this Aircraft. The size I judged to
be at least one and one half times 28 larze as a 2-36 and was shaped
like a spread VY with the winzs sloping back at an angle of about 15°.
“On the rear edge of the wings soft white lights were located in
ptire with not less than six of these on each side of center. These
lizhts were very different from motor or jet exhausts as seen at nizht.
I am familar with the avpvearence of these.
"From the front edge of tre wing etrins extended to the rear edze
of the wines with the strip ending between the lizhts of each pair.
These strips hed poor reflection.
"Rach pair of lizhts were sevara:ed by ssout eight times the dis-
tance between the lights of one pair.
"The wines Soneared to retain their size from the center to the
end witront any taver.

"On the night of 25 August, 1951, at my home at 2158 houra I observed
- for adout 30 seconds an unfamilier aircraft traveling from 10° west of
north in the direction of 10° east of sout*. Ihe rate of apseed of the
aircraft mizht have been 350 miles ner hour.
"The aircraft was low enough for the neon and car lichts of Zaat
Central Avenue to be reflected from it. The altitude of the nircraft
wae difficult to judge.
"The size of the aircraft was a rarently 1- to 2 times of that of 2
B= 36 ”
"The type of the aircraft was that of one with wings ewept back 15°
approximately. No furelaze was visible. The winzs «did not appear to
taper at the outer ends. On the rear edze of each of the wings at least
6 and possibly 5, soft, white lichts were visible. These lichts were
round, not trailing as in jet airernft exhausts seen at night. These
lizhte were zrouved in twos with a larger distance between the pairs
than between each one in a pair. “o red or zreen lichts were visible.
As the object moved further south the lichts vere not visidie.
"The underneath surface of the wings of the rireraft anvesred to

the srean between the lichts did not reflect licht we'l.
"The most outstanding feature of this observ2tion was the fact that
there was no audible sound from motors or jets. In fact the aireraft
made no noise that I could hear.
