size of object. Object first was sighted at estimated 60 degree angle
above horizon and altitude was estimated at from 10,00o to 20,000 feet,
if object was of similar dimensions as C-54 transport plane. Object was

3. One T-33 jet aircraft departed Westover AFB O8ll and returned d 0930 At
least three C-54/R5D type aircraft were flying in the vicinity of West-
over Air Force Base at the time object was sighted. The number and type
of commercial aircraft in vicinity at time is unknown.
4. No testing devices had been released prior to sighting.

E. Interrogator's Corment:
vision due to bright sun or other reflecting gobject nearby. The observer
…appeared sincere in reporting thc incident but was unable to furnish specif-
ic details due to the short time object was in view. Although the observer
stated the object was in approximately 30 seconds, it is the interrog-
ator's opinion the time was much less, probably 5 to 10 seconds. The ob-
server stated that he was familiar with the sounds 1 types 'conven
tional and jet aircraft and that the sound which tracted his attention
was different from these.
