1. The folowing is an account of an observat ion of an unidentified aerial
object sighted from a position of 33° 53' 30° N, 117° 15' 30" W, at approximately
0350 GCT, 14 October 1950. The sighting was made by a USAF officer-navigator during
a period of celestial navigation.

c. Sise +: Approximately that of a planet.

d. Color : Luminous, bright red, unsteady in intensity, somewhat similar

to an aircraft's exhaust flame.

e. Speed : Undetermined, but appeared to be great.

f,. Heading : 180° true course.

ge Maneuverability: Object seemed to accomplish every maneuver and combina
tion thereof known to witness.

h. Altitude: Undetermined, but appeared to be at a very great altitude as
though within the celestial sphere,

i. Sound : None.

but slight haze and slight surface fog. Surface winds and winds aloft were not deter—
