1, +he following information is eeported to vour office for proper disnositon of
the information that vas riven confidential y to me by Lieut. Charles Kinzel,
Chief of the Nashiraton State Colleve Police “orce, Pullman, deshineton, on the
morning of 2 July 1950, when he and I were discussing some of the traffic poroblems
as they pertain to the Camous here at ‘ashincton State College,

2. Vhief “inzel is a member of the Vashin¢ton State Patrol, on detached duty here at
Washinzton State College, CAief Kinzel s interest in flving saucers is as hirh as
many of the otler persons in t!.is area,“and he has always be.n on the watch for one
of the flying saucers or to talk to a person who has seen one, Shie: Kinzels

calied to a location in the Horsehaven hills about’ two weeks ago by an excited
citizen who had found a strange metal object, tit was saucer shaped, when
saw the object, he could see that ‘here was some written material on it and followed
