dated -12 August 1949, to sightings of unidentified flying
objects. » Special Agent, Office of Special
Investigations, Holloman » New Mexico, observed an unusual aerial

phenomenon at 2230 hours, 6 January 1950, and reported all pertinent
information regarding the sighting.

No. 85, dated 12 August 1949, to report all sightings of unidentifiod

flying objects.

Investigations, observed an unusual Aerial Phenomenon on 6 January 1950
at 2230 hours, and the following information is submitted:

unknown size of object).
(2) Angle of elevation from horizon; Approx. 15°,
(3) Altitude; Undeterminable. (Due to unknown size of object).

g- Time in sight: ‘Was observed for a period of 45 minutes, at
the end of which time it was still in sight.

h. Appearance of object:

(1) Color: Predominately white-bright, comparable to Venus.
Changed Srratically to green and red.
Shape; Star-like shape. Unable to determine specific shape.

3 Apparent construction; Unable to determine.
4) Size; Slightly larger than the planet Venus.

i. Direction of flight: Generally, East to West; however,
object moved erratically up, down, to the right,
and to the left, in its general path from ast
to West.

were comparatively minute and erratic.

3. This agent contacted the Sase feather Station, Solloman
Air Force Base, in an attempt to zet a "fix on the object with a
theodolite. However, due to an obstruction between the fixed theodolite -

and the object no data was obtained. A Q-15 type-radar set was used
in an attempt to pick up the object on radar. This attempt met with
negative results. Checks were made with the Operations and Projects
Division, Holloman AFB, and the Research Section of White Sands Proving
Ground and it was determined that there have been no testing devices
sent aloft in this vicinity which could account for this sighting.
