of their observation Weather sequences indicate that the weather time
of the observation, 1800-1830 hrs. 28 Aug 9 was clear. with risibility of at
least 20 miles, clouds and no change weathe: winds approximate-
ly 1800 knots. No scheduled flights the area between 1800
and 1830 hrs, 28 Aug 49 and no testing device reported released in the
vicinity by Crdnanc Navy, Air Units other research
organizations except that rge ather wes released by the Sand
Point Weather Station Seattl Washington 1800 and 1900 hrs, 49

12. On local weather conditions were
received from M/Sgt EDWARD O. SMIT: 835722, 10th Weather Squadron, 2l0lst
AWG, McChord AFB, Washington, weather recaster Clear, visibility
at least twenty miles, no clouds and change i the hours of
1730 and 1830 28 August 1949, Winds aloft between 1730 18: hours (PST) were
recorded oproximately 180° 15 knots, on 28 Aug 49. SMITH further advised
and 1900 hours, 28 Aug Sand Point Weather Station,
Seattle, Washington, released weather balloon. No scheduled flights were
reported in ares between the hours of l800 1830 hours, 28 Aug 49, and no
testing devices other than the aforementioned balloon were reported as being re-
leased in this vicinity by Ordnance Weather Units or other
research organisations.
