speed 17,999 mph. Was shaped like a flying wing with heat waves

scattered cumulus type clouds at 7oo0 to 802o feet
and an occasional thunderstorms were prevalent in the
Denver area. Visibility vas excellent with no obstruc-
tions. attached).

tracking transmitter attached to a balloon was conducted
from l4l5 to l442 when run was terminated due to fad-
ing s signal. Set wes operated megacycles with
some interference. Cause of interference was undeter-

angle of elevation was approximately 85 degrees, The color and construction of the
material was similar to aluminum. Mr stated theobject probably jot pro-

2. Weather at l630 MT was scattered cumulus type clouds bases variable 8000 to
10,000 feet, visibility 30 miles more winds aloft 15,000 feet 300 degrees 18
knots becoming 33 There was no outstanding or prominent celestial
phenomena. consisting of radio set SCR-658 tracking tranamit-
ter attached A balld ducted from 1415 to 1442. WAS terminated
due to fading signal erated acyoles one interference.
Cause of interference undeterminsd. Radar observatior AP0/13 made at
1500 and 1700. Nothing unusua s reported.
3. U. S. Weathe Bureau weather station at Stapleton Field, Denver, Colorado,
made upper air vati on consisting of tracking of a weather baloon through optical
means from 1400 Wa- terminated when balloon burst.
