1. Im compliance with FS Reeulation 200-4, subject “Unidentified
Fiying Ubjeots* dated 2 November 1948, in rerersnoe to letter, Teadquarters,
USAP, subjects “"Revorting of Information on ‘Flying Disos,'*, dated
§ February 1948, the following report is submitted,

2. An umidentified flying object was seen over Fort ‘orth, Texas,
on 15 April 1949, at avrwoximately 2105C, by 1st Lt Robert A. Francis,
who called it to the attention of Captain Stanley B3orowski. Both
officers aré assiened to the Carswell Plight Service Center, Carswell
Air Porce Base, Fort Yorth, Toxss,.

3, Subjest officers had just returned from a local flight ond
worse standing by their aircrart on the flivht line. The weather at
time object waz sighted reported by Carswell Air Force Sese was olerr
and visivility of eignt miles, . No vhotorrepnas ars avaiisnis. Object
wag round and in the share of a call, very silver in color. it was
craveling at a tremendous rete of sveed, estimated to be over 1000
miles oer hour,-altitade was very hard to ‘udes and cannot 5s estinated
correctly; howewer, object seemed to be clearly visible. . Lieutenant
Francia saw the object apvear om the horizou in the north northwest
dirsotion, 1t seemed to fly horizontally in the direction of south
southeast. It. did not appear to burn out, cut svddenly disappesred,

No sound was heard, The exhaust trail seemed to be acuroximately three
times the sise of the odject and algo was silver in opi-r. Tho exhaust
consisted of silver streaks and star shaped figures. Ths odject definitely
did s0% aspear te be a jet or meteor. [ts speed was far in exoezs oF

any jas speed witnessed oy of Pisers. The entire sizhting teox place

im a matter of a few seconds. A check of the Carswsll Flicht Sarvice
iicht following racks showed 20 jet aircraft flying in this area at
