On 1 Feb. Maj. James C. Petersen A0-561533, Adjutant, Holloman A¥B,
Alamogordo, New Mexico advised that on 30 January 1949 at aporox.
1800 hours he sighted a single brighrt green objact in an Easternly
Cirection. Peterson hesitated to estimate the altitude or distance
of thy object. Pstersen described the object as a bright green ball
of Flame traveling in a Southerly direction., without ovidenoe of
smoke or a trail of any kind. Petersen advised that there were no
clouds and that the object did not make any noise to his knowledze/
Potersen advised that ths objest seemed to fizzle out in the Air.
Transit readings wers taken on 2 February and the following readings
were obtaineds Location 33° 56+ yorth 106° 05 1/2* West (Hodleoman ars)
Object first sighted: 55 °Marnetio North and 5° plovation.
Object Last sighted: 63° Nagnetic North and 3 1/2° zlevation.
