it would be difficult to assizn an astronomical origin to the
object sasn in tris incident. ‘hore are a few statements which,
taxen alone, stronrly suggest that a neteor wus observed: hign
rate of speod, "seemed to pe in a snallow dive,” white smoke trail,

mountginous terrain full of canyons and revines.
