In the center of the disc was an ordinary starter from a flourescent light which was fastened on by means of a Parker-Kalon self- tapping sorew. Located on eaoh side at approximately one inch from the edge of the diso was a condenser of an unknown type which was held in plaoe by an aluminum strap which was fastened to the disc by two brazier head aluminum rivets, Specification AN-456-D6. Two strands of coiled copper wirs connected the condensers to the startar in the center of the dise. The condensers and the portion of the diso adjacent to the top of the condensers appeared to be covered with a oot. 8 Ju1y 194UNCLASSIFIED The FBI has received a teletype from their New Orleans Field Division dated 7 July 1947. One , also known as of , Shreveport, Louisiana, advised that he observed a circular disc at 6:05 P. M. on 7 July coming from a northwesterly direc tion. The disc landed in the of de and allegedly picked up the disc at .The disc was whirling when seen in the air and fire was seen spouting from the sides. The fire allegedly went out when the disc landed. Smoke was observed rising from the disc. allegedly stated that when he picked up the dise it was not hot. The disc was described as a thin aluminum dise 16 inches in diameter with small coils 2 inches in diameter by 4 inches in length at the ends of the diameter of the disc. The coils were connected by two copper wires to two terminals on each coil and the wires were connected at the crossing in the center of the disc to an ob ject one inch in diameter by 2 inches in length.
